How to save a Spotify podcast episode

Find the same episode in the publisher’s public feed and save its original audio.

Where does the audio come from?

PodConverter reads public details about a Spotify episode, then looks for the same episode in a publisher’s public RSS feed. When a reliable match is available, Save audio links to the publisher’s audio file.

It does not extract Spotify-hosted audio or unlock subscription-only, paid or encrypted content. An episode being publicly playable on Spotify does not guarantee a matching public RSS audio source.

Save an episode in three steps

  1. Copy the episode link

Open the episode you want in Spotify and choose Share, then Copy link. Use an episode link rather than a show page or playlist.

    https://open.spotify.com/episode/…
  2. Paste and resolve

Paste the link into PodConverter and start resolving. Check the show and episode title. If several candidates appear, compare their title, date and duration, then choose Resolve this episode.

  3. Save audio or episode details

When a source is available, the result shows Save audio, Episode details JSON and Episode details TXT. The JSON and TXT files contain episode metadata, not a transcript.

Resolve a Spotify episode

What does each result mean?

Public source found
Check the episode and save its audio. The publisher’s format is preserved: MP3 stays MP3 and M4A stays M4A. PodConverter does not convert formats.
Several candidates
More than one result meets the matching conditions. Choose the intended episode before saving. If you are unsure, go back and change the link.
Cannot download
No reliable, usable public source was found in this attempt. You can try the show’s public RSS feed or an Apple Podcasts episode link. Without an available source, PodConverter cannot offer a download.
Temporary resolve failure
Check that the link is complete. If an upstream service is unavailable or rate-limited, try again later; repeated clicks will not make it recover faster.

Save audio opened a player?

This depends on your browser and the publisher’s response. Look for a download option in the player or use the browser’s Save as command. On mobile, check the system share or Save to Files options. PodConverter cannot force a download when the source restricts saving.

Only save and use content you own or are authorized to use. PodConverter is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Spotify.
